As I peruse the internet for birthday party ideas for my little loves and showers for my fantabulous friends, I am simply amazed at the amount of talent that is "out there" in the world! I noticed that most of the blogs were from large cities here and there. I sort of felt like I needed to represent the small{ish} towns out there, like mine. Mostly because I am surrounded by a mega-talented group of friends! This blog is dedicated to all of them and to all of you. For the love of a sweet soiree!

If You Give a Pig a Pancake Party

This feature party was so cute! My friend, Elizabeth, needed something for both her son and daughter's birthday, so a book theme was perfect! I don't know about you, but I am in love with the 'IF YOU GIVE...'series of books! I think books are just a fun way to incorporate a theme. You can always use the book to read to the kids and she even gave each child attending their own copy! I encourage mamas out there to pick their kiddos favorite book and run with the theme! The sky is the limit with a book party {think Fancy Nancy, Olivia, Dr. Seuss, etc.}! The pancake theme was super fun for breakfast! Her son also has food allergies, so all of the food she served was non-dairy, egg-free and peanut-free. I was glad she brought this up, because it is ALWAYS nice to ask if the children you are inviting have food allergies. Elizabeth is a master at allergy friendly cooking and baking!
Love these cupcakes!
She also found their t-shirts at CafePress. They have just about anything you are looking for!
And little Clarey had a sweet little piggy bow from etsy {what mama doesn't love stuff from etsy?!?}

Thanks for sharing this precious party with us!!

  2. I just found your blog and I am so glad I did!! I am working so hard on my daughters 1st birthday- the party is this saturday with the theme being "The Apple of My Eye" My oldest had a pancake and pajama party day at school in March & I bought her this book. She LOVED it. We have a pretend pig that comes in our window every morning & hangs out. Also, I just finished nursing my 1 year old & my 3 year old nurses her baby dolls. The other day she told me she was having a baby pig LOL You never know what she is going to say. We have a motto- Go Big or Go Home when it comes to our birthday parties & I think I may just take this theme & run with it since she loves pigs so much right now. Her birthday is coming up in Sept so it is just about time for me to start the planning. I am also coordinating an 85th birthday party, 65th wedding anniversary party & a little boys 1st birthday party all before Sept. I am definitely going to have to get started soon. Thanks for the inspiration
